Santolo Beach in Cikelet Sub-District, Garut Regency
Many beaches reside in Garut Regency and all of them are worth to visit. For instance, there is Santolo Beach in Cikelet Sub-District. It resides in Pamalayan Village and has been visited regularly by the locals. In fact, it is also famous among those who live Bandung City and nearby regions! The reason is that the beach offers stunning beach panorama and beautiful marine creatures. What is more? The next allure of the beach is the fact that it becomes the gathering place for local fishermen. There is even a boat service, so tourists can rent one and explore the beach thoroughly by it.
Santolo Beach has several interesting features including white sand, moderate waves, and a traditional pier. Local fishermen use the pier to park their boat for resting before going back to fish in the sea, after all. Near to it, a boat service resides. What is more? Tourists can also find some facilities including souvenirs stands and inns. When it comes to nuance, the beach offers a warm atmosphere and soothing breeze. Instead, the owner of the boat (local fishermen) may accompany them to explore the water. During the activity, it is also recommended to take some pictures of the sea! One thing, it is better to enjoy such activity when the water is nice. The rain makes it uncomfortable and dangerous, after all.
Another thing to do in Santolo Beach is to witness the natural phenomenon in the east end of the beach. At the site, tourists can find Cilauteureum River downstream that connects to the sea. Here is the unique thing. The sea water flows to the river during the high tide, not the other way around. It seems strange for those who know the law of nature, for sure.

How to Get There
In order to get to Santolo Beach, tourists need to get to Garut City first regardless of their location. For those coming from Bandung, the trip may take about 4 hours and 51 minutes as the distance is 153 km. For a faster trip, it is recommended to take Nanggeleng – Cirahayu Street.
