Bagendit Lake in Banyuresmi Sub-District, Garut Regency
In West Java Province, the locals call a lake as “Situ”. It belongs to Sundanese Language, actually. This word even becomes more popular among outsiders and travelers who are interested in visiting some cities that reside in such region (Garut is for the example). As for the reference in Indonesia, there is Situ Bagendit located in Sukamukti (Bagendit) Village and it belongs to Banyuresmi Sub-District. The good thing is that the local government has provided ample facilities to the lake, so tourists can spend a good time during the visit. Not to mention the panorama looks serene and beautiful there.
Before enjoying numerous activities in the lake, tourists indeed need to pay the entrance fee. Even though the lake doesn’t have crystal clear water, it looks serene and unique. Thanks to the presence of fun facilities like colorful boats as well. Tourists can rent the boat and explore the lake with their families comfortably! Next, the lake is surrounded by trees and comfortable facilities like small gazebos. No wonder, it becomes a nice place for relaxing due to such soothing ambiance. When it comes to swimming, it is not recommended as the water doesn’t come in a good condition.
Exploring Bagendit Lake
It is true that everyone needs to pay the entrance fee in order to enjoy fun activities in Bagendit Lake. Have no worries. The fee is considered cheap, so everyone can afford it easily. Moreover, the money is going to be used for improving facilities and taking care of the environment. This way, visitors would feel comfortable when spending good times there. Such serene and well-maintained nuance, thus, tourists can take advantage of it to relax and find peace (especially for those who want to get rid of stresses caused by daily routines).
What is next? Tourists usually take advantage of available water rides to explore the lake with their families. The first choice is a raft, which the most expensive one. The fact is that there are about 60 rafts provided by the management, so everyone would be able to get one without queuing. The next option is the water bike. One thing, there are only 11 of them so tourists should come early if they to avoid queuing.
Not only tourists can enjoy water activities in Bagendit Lake, but they can also find other fun activities to do on the site. For example, it is to ride the mini train and explore the area in a comfortable manner. Not to mention there is a swimming pool for them to use. When it comes to foods, several local food stands reside near to the lake so everyone can get both foods and drinks easily!

How to Get There
From Bandung City (the capital of West Java Province), tourists can take any local transportation service like buses or taxi and head to Garut City. Next, they must go to Banyuresmi Sub-District and visit Sukamukti (Bagendit) Village and reach the lake right away. This whole trip may take around 1 hour and 33 minutes, as the distance is 61.4 km actually. As for the best route, it is none other than Nanggeleng – Cirahayu Street.
